Relationship Between Social Capital and Quality of Life (QoL) Among the Elderly Patients Experienced Traumatic Events

Background and Objectives: The quality of life (QoL) the elderly can be declined by several factors. Social capital is one effective factors for improving QoL. This study aims to determine relationship between social QoL in hospitalized due traumatic events. Methods: a descriptive-correlational study. population consists all older patients aged 65 years higher admitted selected hospitals Qom, Iran from September 2019 2020 experiencing these, 330 were using non-probability sequential sampling method. Data collection tools Onyx Bullen’s questionnaire, Leiden-Padua demographic checklist. analyzed SPSS v. 26 software descriptive statistics statistical tests including Spearman correlation test, Mann-Whitney U Kruskal-Wallis multivariate regression analysis. significance level was set at 0.05. Results: mean age participants 70±4.6 years; 49% male 51% female. scores 67.6±13.5 51.6±17.4, respectively. A positive significant observed (r=0.719, P<0.05). had with marital status (P=0.000), place residence (P=0.001), insurance coverage (P=0.000) education (P=0.000).
